Adult Services
Ellisville State School provides services to approximately 500 individuals who reside on the main campus of the facility. Ellisville State School’s residential living arrangements are organized into four licensed units, each licensed as an Intermediate Care Facility for the Mentally Retarded (ICF/MR.) Each unit is administered by a licensed nursing home administrator and provides a supervised 24-hour setting. Active treatment is also provided in the form of personal care training, educational services, vocational training, recreational activities, social services, and psychological services. Medical Services are also provided which include:

Dental
Dietary
Occupational Therapy
Physical Therapy
Pharmacology
Each person is given an individualized plan of care formulated through information obtained from members of the interdisciplinary team which includes professionals in the areas of medical/nursing, nutrition, psychology, social work, recreation, education, physical therapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy and audiology, as well as, input from parents and family members. Additionally, individuals may receive vocational training to cultivate occupational or employment skills. Recreation programs and activities are provided to enhance social interaction and develop leisure interests. Religious services are also available for those who wish to partake in church and worship activities.
